I have been knitting...

Hello Dear Friends!
Yes, I have been knitting. Winter finally arrived and after drooling over so many lovely projects especially on pinterest and lovely blogs like Dear Meredith's , I have decided to give it a go.
I chose an easy pattern for a co-worker from Garnstudio . So, here it is ;

The photo is shot with an iPhone in my pharmacy and this explains the shelves with medications.
I hope you have a lovely day! Gaia.

WIP progress -'babette-ish blanket'

Hello Dear Friends!
I hope you are all well. Last couple of my days have been so hectic I have been always stressful and tired. Yet, I have managed to squeeze in a little bit of beauty;

I have collected all the fruits of my tangerine tree, squeezed the juice and made lemonade.

I almost finished my wip, then changed my mind . I have decided to make it bigger to fit a double bed. So this project is still a wip and will be a wip for a long time...

Have a lovely day! Gaia.

WIP

Hello Dear Friends!
I am so excited! When I first started this project , I had my doubts but now , I am so happy with how it turned out...

Those of you who follow my little blog may know that I am not good at sewing but with this project I am even enjoying sewing!
Most of you might have recognized this pattern as the 'Babette Blanket' but I used the Klimt Blanket Layout .
I can't wait to be back with a ta-daaa! post .
Have a lovely day! Gaia...

Staying at home

Hello Dear Friends,
Today was a holiday and we stayed home. Such a rare happening in our lives...
My little man enjoyed his breakfast watching TV and colouring....

We did some gardening; planting ourselves a kitchen herbs pot.
And of course, there was a lot of crochet going on....I actually finished a South Bay Shawlette.
But my real project was not the shawlette. It is something else...
I have been working with this yummy yarn...

This is the same yarn I crocheted my hexagons blanket . The colours are so lovely that I couldn't help starting another blanket.
My Little One enjoyed being at home. He played and played with his toys till he fell asleep while playing with them.
This is on my hook now. I would like to crochet some more but tomorrow will be a tough day at work  and I'd better be off to bed. Goodnight! Gaia.

WIP; the hexagon blanket

Hello Dear Friends!
I hope you all had a lovely week-end. As you might have guessed, I have started sewing my hexagons together.

It turned out better than I expected; it is gorgeous! I showed it to my neighbours already and they are stunned; even my mother liked it and she said I should have an exhibition with my blankets. I was so happy with this remark . Who knows? Maybe someday I will have a stand in one of those village festivals ...

As I was sewing them together, I realized that my sewing has improved and I am doing a much neater job.
Of course,I could have finished this by this week-end but got busy with other projects as well; I have started a shawl and did this:

I do not know what to call this; a doily? a hexagon? But it sure proved to be very useful. I use it as a water glass cover :)

Have a lovely week! Gaia.

Slow Sunday

Hello Dear Friends!
After such a long and stressful summer , it is so nice to be back to routine. Hubby being away for work and elder son staying at his grand-parents had left me with too much relaxed time. Time to spend with my Little Man and time  to crochet.Luckily, the heat waves have left us and we are enjoying some cool weather too!

This photo was shot by my Little Man yesterday...We had lunch at a restaurant by the sea and although it was rather cloudy, people were enjoying long swims as we ate.

Later we went to a nursery and enjoyed some green scenery and my Little Man enjoyed looking at the fish.

Above picture shows my mother,my dad and my Little Man.

Sunday was a day of resting but Saturday was a day of crocheting. I crocheted like mad. After work I went to visit my neighbour and while the children played I chatted and crocheted crazy. I went home, as I had dinner ready, I continued crocheting .

I could only do the centres of my last 45 hexagons. If my hubby doesn't come ( China trips last at least two weeks) I will be able to finish my hexagons and will be ready to join by the end of next week-end. I have already started a crochet curtain project and a babette blanket project so I am desperate to finish the hexagons. And I am planning a shawl for myself. This winter will be a busy one and I am so glad that the weather cooled down making it just perfect for crochet!

Have a lovely week! Gaia.

FOs and a WIP

Hello Dear Friends!

Finally, my pillows are sewn and done . The ones which were supposed to be gifted are gifted and received .

Now , I am working on my hexagons blanket...

There is very little time to crochet as I am at work almost 12 hours of the day. An hour or two I spend at home, I prefer to spend it with my Little Man.

Will there be a ta-daaa! post for the hexagons blanket soon? I very much doubt that but until then , take care! Gaia.

hexagon blanket progress

Hello Dear Friends!

My hexagon blanket is growing rather slowly. At the beginning of my holidays, I thought I could finish it by the time my holiday ended but though I started work last Friday, it is far from finished!
Today, I laid all my hexagons on the carpet only to realize that I am not even half-way through. 46 hexagons I have,I will approximately need twice that number to finish off. I am not disappointed. I enjoy working on this project very much. It is just that each day it is getting harder and harder to find time to crochet.

Hope to be back with more progress soon. Have a lovely week!Gaia.
