This is my new finished blanket. It was supposed to be baby blanket but it turned out to be bigger. It was gifted to the father of the baby girl this morning at work .

CROCHET FINISH OF THE YEAR 2021

 Hello Dear Friends,

It has been such a long time since I last posted. I am going through a rough patch in my life these days , I am healthy but very stressed hence I have no appetite for blogging. My crochet time is diminished remarkably due to daily chores but I managed  to finish a baby blanket last month. The blanket is gifted immediately and I could only manage three photos at my work while I was handing it to the baby's father.

Hello Dear Friends,
Cyprus is a very hot island; perfect for the beach but not so perfect if you are working. I found myself unable to crochet most of the time because of the heat, but My Little Man's school friend's mother is expecting a baby girl in September and  I managed to crochet a baby girl blanket.Ta-daa!

I managed my first internet yarn purchase.These lovelies came from Bursa, Turkey.

They are 100% cotton. I have lots of ideas what to make of them but I am admiring a version of granny square and I will give it a try first.
I also received my first yarny gift: My sister went to Berlin this summer and brought me these two 'beyond my dreams' balls. They are linen.

The colour is sooooo beautiful; something blue-gray-greenish, very difficult to capture in a photo . Best gift ever!

Those beautiful squares are hard to crochet; all those popcorns take time. I can only manage a square a night but it is totally worth the effort.I am working with mercerized cotton and 3mm hook to crochet all of these lovelies. The yarn brand is Alize Bahar.For the pattern please click here .

Hello Dear Friends!
I am back with a ta-daa! post!

This lovely baby girl blanket is finished and wrapped :)

It is made of 25 squares . I used mercerized cotton ; perfect for a hot summer...

My Little Man got a bit jealous and banned me from making blankets for other people and babies. Luckily, his blanket is in progress and close to finishing too...

I love this pattern but the popcorns take time to crochet and I can only make a square a night! But if you think this will keep me from making popcorns, you are definitely wrong. I have already started to plan my next project which is another pattern by Haafner.

Hello Dear Friends!
The weather is so nice for the last couple of days; my garden is in full bloom.

The freesias...

Tangerine blossoms leave their sweet smell in the air....

There is colour everywhere...

I am in a very good mood not just because the weather is good or the house is tidy or the garden is gorgeous but  because I finally had a chance to take photos of my solid granny square blanket . Ta-daa!

Now it has taken its place in Mr. Teenager's room. He is so happy about it!

Blanket ta-daa!

Yes, it is finally finished...

I have started this project in November 2013 and finished only yesterday; June 2014. 8 months a wip...

I used the 'Klimt Blanket ' setting for the squares but when I finished I realized it was too small. I added more squares on the side, then I got bored of all the calculating and decided to go for a double crochet edge.

WIP progress -'babette-ish blanket'

I hope you are all well. Last couple of my days have been so hectic I have been always stressful and tired. Yet, I have managed to squeeze in a little bit of beauty;

I have collected all the fruits of my tangerine tree, squeezed the juice and made lemonade.

I almost finished my wip, then changed my mind . I have decided to make it bigger to fit a double bed. So this project is still a wip and will be a wip for a long time...

Hello Dear Friends!

My hexagon blanket is growing rather slowly. At the beginning of my holidays, I thought I could finish it by the time my holiday ended but though I started work last Friday, it is far from finished!

Today, I laid all my hexagons on the carpet only to realize that I am not even half-way through. 46 hexagons I have,I will approximately need twice that number to finish off. I am not disappointed. I enjoy working on this project very much. It is just that each day it is getting harder and harder to find time to crochet.
