Taking a break

Hello Dear Friends,
Today, I took a break from work, from being a mom, wife, housewife , and rested. I have to admit that I did a little bit of tidying and vacuuming and doing the laundry but rest of the day ,I can assure you I just rested. ( Please try not to notice that I am at work actually working right now :) )
In this short me-time I had , I took photos of my garden;
And I had a little bit of hooky time.
I worked on projects from Nikki Trench's book Cute&Easy Crochet. And my Little Man posed for the hat.
I hope you all have a lovely week.Gaia.

Time for a crochet bag

I hope you are all having a lovely day....
I have been contemplating crocheting a bag since long but I was too busy finishing off the baby blankets. Suddenly it occurred to me that it is high time I crocheted a bag for myself. I would make myself a beach bag! So I took a break from all the blankets in progress and this is what I have achieved so far;

I love,love,love this pattern and hope to be back with a ta-dah ! post soon. Until then good-bye....Gaia.

Week-end crochet

I hope you all had a lovely week-end. Mine was fruitful, I can say...We went to my parents' summer place,
which is a complex still under construction, and while my Little Man was throwing stones in the sea,
  I have managed to finish my sister's baby blanket. Above photo shows my family.
Not only did I finish my sister's baby blanket- the baby is 99% a boy- but I photographed it as well. So here it is: Ta-dah!....
And this photo shows the same pattern crocheted by my neighbour ,Miss E.
My other neighbour Mrs.A is now eager to learn crochet, so I guess I will be teaching how to crochet. I have already gifted her some balls of yarn just need to find some time off from work.

That is all from me today. I hope you have a lovely week. Gaia.

New inspiration

After yesterday's post , I felt much better when I got back home.I had dinner at my parents' so when I was home  I had time to crochet!
First thing I did was to gift wrap the the baby blanket I had crocheted earlier.
Then I organized my yarn to photograph them
This yarn is microfiber with a silk effect.Easy to work with.
This yarn is 100% cotton. I tried it few months before and didn't like it but when I tried again yesterday with a different hook size, I think this will be my favourite yarn for this summer.
And lastly, my sister's baby blanket progress
I will add two more rows and a border.
That is all from me today. Have a lovely day! Gaia.

Vintage Crochet

Lately, it is like I am not myself. I am always tired -that is because I have a lot to do- and I cannot crochet as much as I would like to do. I have few projects on the go but it I am unable to finish any because I lost interest in them. I bought different types of yarn, for summer crocheting , but even those new balls of yarn cannot make me excited as before.So I am trying something new; inspired by my aunt's project and this.So here it is:
Unfortunately, the yarn is discontinued.It is mercerized cotton. Such a pity that it is discontinued.
Have a lovely day! GAia.

I hope you are all happy and well wherever you are. I have been to Istanbul this week-end for business but I can honestly tell you that I missed home and my crochet a lot! My i-phone battery died and I had forgotten to take my charger so there are no photos except this one
the view from the hotel window
and this one
my toddler son riding in the caterpillar in Cevahir shopping mall. My advice to you is that; when you are on a business trip with your hubby ,DO NOT take your toddler with you!
When I was there , I realized how much I missed home and that I do not,in fact, like travelling at all. I love the routine and my crafty life.
Before I went I took some photos I would like to share with you.
Rosa damascena rose petals;
daisies picked up from this field

poppies in my mother's garden. If I have to summarize: SPRING.
Have a lovely day...Gaia.

Crochet shawl

I hope you are all having a nice day....
Today , I am working on something new; something I have never tried before; a shawl.... I realized lately that I have grown tired of making blankets-I still love blankets- but every now and then I need something different. So, here it is:

The moment I saw the pattern, I fell in love with it. I have to admit though that it is a bit complicated and I can hardly find any time to crochet these days. Yet, my shawl is growing, a stitch at a time...
That's all from me now. Till next time,goodbye...Gaia.
