TA-DAH *2! Circles and Stripes Blanket
Hello Dear Friends!
It has been long time since my last post.I have been fighting illnesses and our daily routine was very much interrupted. Although I have stayed at home for almost one and a half week, I couldn't touch my crochet hook at all.
Now, we are back to our routine and I am back with two finished blankets!
First; my blanket:
I am calling this blanket '' Circles and Stripes Blanket''.
The first photo shows the back of it.I did a pretty 'clean job'.
It was so much fun to crochet this blanket. I used 50% cotton yarn. Unfortunately, the yarn is discontinued. But I still have enough for two more baby blankets!
Last week-end was sunny and hot, so I took my Little Man to a nursery in Girne, beautiful city by the sea. The nursery had a playground so the Little One enjoyed himself too!
It was soooo nice to wander around some greens after staying home for so long . I did a little shopping and we were able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the coffee shop which happens to be inside the nursery! Such a lovely place for mummies to visit with their toddlers and kids.
I ended up coming home with two boxes of plants; I shopped cleverly this time only buying plants resistant to heat as Nicosia is far more hotter than Girne.
Now is the time for the second ta-dah!. This is the blanket my neighbour made . Such a lovely blanket it turned out to be. It is the same pattern, the same yarn but different colour combinations.
And here is a closer look:
I hope you all have a lovely week. Gaia.

Crochet Books and The New Blanket-Part1
Hello Dear Friends,
For as long as I know myself, I am in love with books. As a child, I didn't have much choice and I was a member to the local library. The books there were not in a very good shape and I remember getting sad because the cover of a book was torn or I was unable to see the original cover because the book was binded. And the irony is that my grand-father used to work in the library long before I could read binding books....Anyway, when I was in grade 3 we had to go to England and stay there for about a year where I attended school . I loved my school-I do not remember the name now, will have to ask mom- and my teachers; Mrs. Gardener was the headmaster, Mrs. Bevis-who worked with me so much that I was able to learn English by the end of the year and to whom I owe my love for the language of English-and Miss Bird -I think she was our reading teacher-who used to take us to the local library walking and we used to read books together in a different classroom.
And the library; Oh my! So many colourful, lovely lovely books!
Those are distant memories now, but what I still have with me is the love of books. And as you know, I am a crochet addict. And now I have become a crochet books lover. I love the blog land too because it gave me an opportunity to improve my crochet techniques, I learned a lot such as there is something called 'colourful crochet'!. I was inspired by many bloggers like attic24, bunny mummy,Le monde de Sucrette and many many more...
For the last couple of days, I was waiting for mail. And I was amazed; books I have ordered from amazon.com was here just in a week! You cannot imagine my excitement when I saw the mail. I rushed open the box and there they were; my two lovely crochet books!
The first book is Crochet to Go! by Ellen Gormley ISBN-13: 978-1446300572 . The moment I held this book, I fell in love with it. Such lovely designs , such delicate motifs!
What I liked even more is that every motif has a graphic pattern too! Such a good buy!
I was eager to try all the motifs in the book but I managed only one till now. I intend to make a baby blanket for my sisters baby- yay! she is pregnant!- after I finish with my Little Man's blanket.
The second book is Cute & Easy Crochet by Nicki Trench. Such an eye candy! I was drooling over the designs...
Of course, I have to make one from this:

It's raining...
Hello!
Just popping in to say hello. Today we are having lots of rain. Luckily on Saturday I have planted my geraniums in their new pots.
Their colour is so bright, they brighten these rainy dark days....
I hope you have a lovely day. Gaia...

A FAmily Outing
Hello Dear Friends!
I hope you all had a lovely week-end. Last Sunday was unexpectedly sunny so we had a small family outing to our favourite harbour city, Girne.
This is the photo of my children walking by Girne Castle (Kyrenia Castle) .
My Little Man loved to watch the boats in the harbour.
Little Man waiting to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.
Little Man running among the tables to burn the calories from the hot chocolate :)
I hope you all have a lovely week! Gaia.

Blanket Variations
Hello Dear Friends!
I hope you are all having a wonderful day. Today I would like to blog about 'variations of the same pattern' blankets. Do you remember New Year'S New Ta-DA! post ? I have just realized today that I have forgotten to mention about the pattern ?! The pattern can be found here. Such an easy and relaxing pattern ! And here are the different blankets. Not all of these are made by me. Two of them are made by my neighbour, also a crochet addict who fell in love with the pattern immediately. And let me tell you, there are more projects on the go! :)
This was the first project of the year.
Then came a pillow cover. I couldn't sew it yet though...
And these are the examples Miss E. made.
This is a detail from another blanket she has made:
It is so nice to have a friend who crochets too. We meet to crochet, chitchat, drink tea and eat cookies.
I will be back with a blanket ta-dah soon. Until then, good-bye. Gaia.
