Hello,
I hope you are all well. We are having the coldest days of the year so yesterday I preferred to stay at home with my two boys as their father was on a business trip.
It was soooo nice to wake up late, (yes, even the Little Man slept till ten o'clock!) have a huge breakfast, cook lunch in no hurry ( I have made dolma- stuffed vine leaves )and crochet while the Little Man kept himself busy with his toys.
And I have even baked cookies! Oh, yummy, yummy. So today, instead of showing you my latest crochet blanket project, I will be sharing with you this cookie recipe.
ALMOND COOKIES
Ingredients:
400g almond meal
3 egg whites
80g granulated sugar
40g brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
salt
In a big bowl mix egg whites and a pinch of salt, add granulated sugar, mix 3-4 minutes, add brown sugar, mix,add cinnamon and mix again. Then add almond meal and mix another 5-6 minutes . With the help of a tablespoon roll balls from your dough and slightly press them into cookie shape.Pre-heat the oven to 160 degrees and bake cookies for 10-15 minutes or until they are golden brown. After the cookies are cooled you may drizzle on top with melted bitter chocolate.
Lovely with a hot cup of tea!
Have a lovely week! Gaia.

I need to apologize for the quality of the photos here because they are a bit blurry.

The same pattern different projects
Hello,
It has been cold and rainy the last couple of days. We had no electricity and no Internet due to the strikes.Last couple of days really was hard and we had to return to old ways of heating ( gas-heaters) and lighting (candles) as we were totally unprepared for such power cuts.
Now, things started to get back to normal slowly. The days are still cold and gloomy but those are the days perfect for crochet and knitting, aren't they?
I have couple of projects on the go but I haven't yet had the opportunity to photograph them. Today,I would like to mention my dear neighbour Emine Hanım's ( also a crochet and knitting addict ) project who was inspired by one of my projects.
The inspiration for her project is this project. And this is a different version of the same pattern.
She is using Bravo bamboo yarn for her project. She is very close to finishing now but I couldn't photograph it yet. The baby for whom this blanket is intended for was born just yesterday.
Hope to be back soon. Have a lovely day! Gaia.

Hello!
My last post, I have mentioned a project number 3 but I couldn't provide photos. Today, I have taken a few quick photos just before I left for work, so here they are:
This will be a single-bed sized blanket.
When I have the opportunity, I will be back with better photos. Till then good-bye. Gaia.

New Year New Crochet Projects
Hello,
I hope you are having a lovely day.I am a bit shaken today because my Little Man fell from the bed and hit his head.We spent the morning in the ER of the hospital.Luckily he is well, no stitches were required....
Before all these happened, I was planning to write about my new projects.
First project: After a year or two, making baby blankets, I thought I should start to take bigger challenges like making a blanket for my bed. So, I immediately started this project of hexagons.
I like neutral colours for house decoration and I chose beige and brown as the main colours. So far I have made 38 hexagons but I have lost my enthusiasm already because I have discovered these gorgeous colours of the same yarn:
The yarn for this blanket project is a Turkish yarn called ''BRAVO'' .It is a bamboo and acrylic mix. I tried it foe knitting as well but I think it is perfect for crochet projects.
After I have started this project, I have discovered these yummy colours of the same yarn:
I have started a popcorn square blanket for my Little Man.This time a single-bed size is what I aim it to be...
Third project: I did not have an opportunity to photograph this one yet.But you can be sure that it is a colourful project too!
Have a lovely day.Gaia.

New Year's First Ta-dah Post
Hello and happy new year,
I have been working patiently to finish my latest blanket. It took a lot of patience and effort but it is worth it. I loved the result and can't wait to show you.So here it is:
My Little MAn loved it so I will make one for him too.
But this time I will use a different joining method other than Angie's ziz-zag joining. Oh,boy! This method gave me REAL tough time , though I have to admit , the result is beautiful. And thank you Angie , for your lovely graphic patterns. I just LOVE them...
And that concludes my finished projects of 2011.
Have a nice week! Gaia.
