what I have been up to...

Hello and good day to you all!
I know I have been missing from the blogland for a long time . It is not that I am not working on my crochet projects, on the contrary a lot of crochet time I had , but I felt like cooking,baking,cleaning... -in other words- homemaking.
It must be the weather; I feel soooo homely. I just want to clean,do the laundry, hang them to dry under the sun ( takes an hour the most because though it feels like autmn we still have 37 degrees C during daytime and it is still summer) I wish to collect my laundry fresh smelling( Oh! how I love that smell!), fold them, put them in the wardrobes nice and neat. I just wish to bake, bake , bake and crochet, crochet ,crochet.
And as for crochet ,  I have to crochet two blankets  for the twins of my brother-in law's brother, who were born last monday. I need to make a blanket for a boy and a girl. For the girl I am planning to make a version of sunburst granny square in pinks and purples and I was lucky enough to find the perfect yarn for it - that is another post subject - but for the boy I couldn't decide which pattern and I couldn't find the 'perfect' yarn.
So, I decided I will  KNIT a blanket for the boy and that turned out to be a TOUGH JOB . My intention was to make this blanket but after hours and hours of trying , I couldn't do it only to figure out why I couldn't ,  today , after watching video tutorials on youtube. And  this is what I ended up with:
So wish me luck with my new blanket projects . I hope to be posting about them soon...
P.S. This pattern is not what I intended to do but another . It is called ' Old Shale '.  I tried this pattern to figure out how knitting ripples works. Now I will try my intended pattern.
