Joy of a New Ta-daa! moment

 Hello Dear Friends,

Lately, I got my crocheting mojo back and even managed to finish a baby girl blanket.

The blanket was received with  much appreciation by the parents and I am so happy that they liked it. Now I have started another for my son who got a little jelous .

Apart from that, life is pretty much the same despite whatever stress you are going through.

My quince tree is laden with fruit. We will soon have yummy jam.

I have harvested my pomegranates already.

As a seemingly everlasting summer is coming to an end, my garden looks lush.

My morning glory needs a little bit trimming.

As the holiday season is at bay, I wish you all a happy holiday season .

who goes to heaven ? a theological debate

 Dear Friends,

Approximately two years ago, my then husband who happens to be an ex-husband now, told me something that really annoys me till today. He told me that, he made sure that he would go to heaven
 when he dies by including everybody he owes money in his will. That way, when he died, everybody
 he owes money will get paid and  he will go to heaven. Does it really work that way? Or does commiting a sin deliberately during lifetime and insisting on it till death still counts as a bad deed?

CROCHET FINISH OF THE YEAR 2021

 Hello Dear Friends,

It has been such a long time since I last posted. I am going through a rough patch in my life these days , I am healthy but very stressed hence I have no appetite for blogging. My crochet time is diminished remarkably due to daily chores but I managed  to finish a baby blanket last month. The blanket is gifted immediately and I could only manage three photos at my work while I was handing it to the baby's father.

I have only finished  a baby blanket in 2020.

I have many WIPs, one of which you can see in the photo below, inspired by traditional curtain in a village home, shown in the photo above.

2020 was a very weird year with the coronavirus pandemic so we spent a lot of time outdoors.

I did lots of baking this year;

SUMMARY OF 2020 SO FAR IN PHOTOS

All my adult life, I have been working minimum 9 hours a day-mostly 11 hours a day- and now because of the situation going on in the world; I am home while there is daylight! I cook, I clean my house,I read, but most importantly I am homeschooling my son. This is one very tough job,I might say. My Little Man thinks it is holidays. His daily tasks keep arriving from his school and private teachers, and I am struggling to keep up because he thinks it is holidays and does not want to work.He is year 6, he was supposed to sit for checkpoint exams but England cancelled the exams.Yet, we still have local secondary school entrance exam, which will be definitely held  as soon as possible. The situation in my country seems to be stable, there were no cases for the last couple of days; that is what is bothering me.I am asking myself; 'Are we really doing a good job? or are we just not doing enough tests?' They will gradually start opening businesses and they are hoping that because it is summer now, the + cases would be less and the population would acquire immunity by winter . Let's hope, they are right.

CROCHET IN 2020

Hello Dear Friends,                                                                                                  

When I first saw this cushion; I got so smitten with it.I made 2 with merserized cotton but though they are mostly finished they are not totally finished hence no photos. But this beauty in the photo was the one finished even  though I started the last. It was gifted to my friend's daughter (7) as a new year's gift.
As you might guess, I am very fond of crocheting pop-corns. When I run into this pattern on pinterest; I couldn't resist trying.

Pattern here. I started trying out the square and ended up with a plan of king-sized bed-spread .
There is very little time for crochet in 2020 as My Little Man is preparing for secondary school entrance exam; the competition is very fierce and I am not sure he will pass as he doesn't want to go to school but he wants to be a football player.( Life is very tough for me at the moment (sigh!)).

New Year's Eve we celebrated my dad's birthday. Above photo shows my dad and us; his daughters.

Yarny things

Hello Dear Friends,
Cyprus is a very hot island; perfect for the beach but not so perfect if you are working. I found myself unable to crochet most of the time because of the heat, but My Little Man's school friend's mother is expecting a baby girl in September and  I managed to crochet a baby girl blanket.Ta-daa!

I managed my first internet yarn purchase.These lovelies came from Bursa, Turkey.

They are 100% cotton. I have lots of ideas what to make of them but I am admiring a version of granny square and I will give it a try first.
I also received my first yarny gift: My sister went to Berlin this summer and brought me these two 'beyond my dreams' balls. They are linen.

The colour is sooooo beautiful; something blue-gray-greenish, very difficult to capture in a photo . Best gift ever!
