FO'S AND WIP'S...

Firstly, the finished objects. Those two big pillows were finished long ago but since I cannot sew, they were lying around. Last week-end I decided enough of that and here is the result;

I had them sewn at our local yarn shop.Here is some eye candy;

Nostalgia

Hello Dear Friends!

Lately, I have been feeling nostalgia . I keep remembering my late grandmother; how we used to pick mulberry leaves in the village for the silkworms, how she used to teach me thread crochet in the shade of  her balcony in the long and hot summer afternoons.I remember her silk bed sheets,all woven by her in her youth, and her crochet white bed cover. I realize I miss her very much! Hence, the photo above. I decided to make a bed cover similar to hers from the same material; a difficult material to work with.I can't wait to show you the finished product. (It is very hot here; 42 degrees C and only thing you can do is work with such material.)

I am 40

Hello Dear Friends!

Today,I turned 40. All I wanted for my birthday was to stay at home, cook a meal and tackle the ironing. And crochet a little, may be.As it is Youth and Sports Day- a national holiday- I had no work .Yay!  My Little MAn was at home too. I did manage to cook a meal and- how lucky I am!- we had lunch all together(my kids and I-except hubby who  is abroad) - a very very rare thing to take place.

And I managed to add a few motifs to my current blanket.

I enjoyed this view from my kitchen window. Then we went out for dinner my sister planned with my parents.
I feel very lucky to spend the day with my loved ones. Now I have one more thing on the listİ I'll go and finish ironing.

what I have been up to

Hello Dear Friends!
Wow!Time really flies. It has been months since I've last been here.

First, I'd like to show you my current crochet project.I wished to work on a vintage pattern and voila!What's better than a circular doily pattern? And as Cyprus is a really really hot island, I decided to work with mercerized cotton.

While I was away, we had term-break and My Little Man enjoyed waking up late....

I attended his school parties( he is wearing his 'agent under cover' costume),

Been to several birthday parties,

Enjoyed the beautiful weather out,

Been to the aquarium in İstanbul,

Enjoyed a walk in Taksim Square,

Been to Lego-Land,

Enjoyed some time at home,
